The Research Group (RG) Architecture and Urbanism is essentially intended to foster studies that substantiate, in contemporaneity, architecture and urban planning areas, favoring the inter and transdisciplinary field, seeking through relationships between theory and practice. This mediating feature – between theory and practice – is of great relevance today as we seek a path to our architectural identity in the contemporary world. It is our understanding that inter and transdisciplinary are rooted in the process of building that same path.
In this sense, the RG divides itself into two research lines (each of these lines, in turn, divide themselves into several research projects): Transdisciplinary in Architectural Thought and Practice and The City and the Landscape in Contemporaneity. The RG’s researchers contribute to the results within the context of this two research lines range, prominently, from: publications in international scientific journals; books; book chapters (international and national publications); publications in proceedings of international and national conferences; communications at international and national conferences; organization of conferences, seminars, workshops and exhibitions. Palavras-chave: Architecture and Urbanism Contemporaneity Inter and Transdisciplinary Theory and practice
The RG seeks to contribute to the debate on the condition of architecture in the 21st century, not forgetting the past but moving forward towards a future.
